About Meomi

Vicki likes: narwhals, ukuleles, squirrel chatter, sea slugs, SRPGs, collecting pinecones

Michael likes: banjos, blobfish, pups wearing sweaters, the sound of coffee machines, parlour music

Munki likes: teacups, ginger beer, sea shanties, pants (don't all monkeys?)

MEOMI is the not-very-secret pen name for Vicki Wong and Michael Murphy. Both Vicki and Michael write and illustrate the Octonauts books - although people tend to assume Vicki is the writer and Michael is the illustrator - this might be because of Michael's artistically wavey hair.

Meomi enjoys spending their time making up stories, drinking tea, and drawing strange characters.

Meomi's artwork has been featured in numerous illustration and design books, while their art has appeared on a wide variety of objects and products worldwide: from art toys to prints to clothing. They are the designers of the beloved Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic mascots (Quatchi, Miga, Sumi and Mukmuk), and have created art for such clients as Google, Yo GabbaGabba, Chickadee Magazine, Rojo Magazine, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and CBC4Kids.
